bindi yoga

in december 2012 a 23-year-old woman innew delhi was gang-raped and she was killed as a result a batch was beaten upso brutally that she didn't survive her injuries well after that happened india decidedthat they're going to be much more strict

bindi yoga, and harsh when it comes to prosecutingand convicting rate this well numbers have come in andthey indicate that nothing has really changed when it comes to india therehave been more prosecutions but certainly not moreconvictions

so if you look at the specific numbersthere were seven hundred and six were recorded cases of rape however there wasonly one conviction has amazing and that was indelhi in 2012 and 4 one hour so 106 is the pressing mmm and so couple thingshappen the more cases there are the harder it is forpeople to have and they say this they say they haveresource issues to to get convictions right but then up then

people think well there's noconsequences is almost never conviction so than that might lee and even moree it it does i mean it does it send a messageif it's extremely difficult to convict someone a break then rapists are gonna continue rapingmore more women and you'll have more and more cases andif you don't have the resources to actually prosecute and convict these people it'sa vicious cycle it'll continue on now the number reported raped in delhihas nearly doubled

in the past year and the reason why thathappened is because after this brutal great gang rapehappened to this 23-year-old a lot of women who have been victims ofrape decided to come forward and report it but again unfortunately a lot of thesecases were not either prosecuted or if they wereprosecuted never led to a conviction that the case would not be droppedbefore the man would even stand trial yes very frustrating to be going on forone go back two years back in 2011 there were six yr in 35cases

reported to the police and delhi andonly one conviction that here as well so i'm look there is an answer to it switches more resources i mean if you're the governor bill yougovernor in the overall you got a huge issue on your hands yougot to protect your sis that's your core job as the government absolutely toprotect the people that live in your country upi think that if the country if the politicians in india are genuine and sincere aboutwanting to protect women

and if they were genuine and sincere intheir outrage after that gang rape they will allocate the resourcesnecessary to make sure that these prosecutions goforward up but they haven't done that they haven't done that instead they'rethey're focusing on whether or not they should be you know criminalize gay people yeah it's anotherissue in india today and so look if i was in charge tothat area it's easy to say and i'm sure that readjusting budgets is not a easy thing to do is put on a bureaucracythere's entrenched interest

et cetera et cetera but you've got toreadjust them it's not it's not optional at this point becausee you're saying it's open season on womenhere when you only get one conviction at 700 over 700 cases and you can't say thatyou can't do that i mean is an issue and by the way he canbe done that crime which is literally among the worst crimes theirisraeli along what crimes can you convict one that is open season on everythingand it by the way he turns out you can't

and you do have a good condition rateand other crimes well then that goes to show you that you don't prioritize rape andgetting convictions there if you're not but if you're notcommittee on anything my god you gotta put resource into police and a prosecution so otherwise you open up a a pandora'sbox it's very hard to close
