shala yoga

there are a lot of people, that don’t havean opportunity to go to shala, because of where they live, or monetary reasons, or whatever.so they might be practicing on their own. how can they develop the inner calmness itselfduring the practice, and what are the seeds they can germinate into softer approach? arethere things that they shouldn’t be doing, or should be doing, or set up focus on thebreath, or?...

shala yoga, i think it starts from concentration. concentration? yeah. concentration, the breath, and alsowhat i’ve been talking about sattvic mind — that you don’t have to think so muchabout what are you doing today.

even if it is tuesday, it doesn’t have to be thirdseries day, or forth series day. it can be any day, because in the beginning of the practice we don’t know, how the body feels, how the mind feels. so when you start the practice, you just calm down, start to breeze, concentrate, and don’t think so much about how the practicewill be. just start sun salutation a 5 times, sun salutation b, and slowly you start toknow: this is i am today. and you start to do the standing sequence, and — “ok, iam ready to do pashasana today”. and listen to what your body wants to do,rather than just say “ok”… it can be both, it can be listening, and itcan be also knowing — this is how the system works.

but may be today i cannot do the system, today i must do something else.
