athens yoga

i am valia and i'm from athens, greece. ivolunteer at a dog shelter and cat sanctuary and try to help as manycharities as i can, provided that we share the same ideasabout what animal welfare actually is. i rescue, although choosing which dog tosave and which not to is not an easy task for me. i take the shelter dogs homefoster and train them, but basically i spend most of my day filming andphotographing them, which means i am behind a computer screen for longhours everyday editing videos or writing in my blog. i have three dogs that iadore - in fact two of them even walked me down the aisle on my wedding day. inapril 2014

i uploaded my first video about myrescue dog apollo because i just need to tell the world how awesome a dog youpick from the street can be. after that one thing led to another and here weare today. the videos on this channel range from heartbreaking too funny oreven quite sarcastic, so to my blog posts and in fact so do i, because nothing inlife is black-and-white. the orphan pet is mainly about greek rescue dogs andcats and you can find the links leading to its charity's website and socialmedia in the description box of every video. why support the greek rescues?because when it comes to animal welfare greece needs all the attention it canget - it is basically one open bleeding

wound. there is a ridiculous number ofstray animals here, new dogs are being abandoned as we speak and as much as wetry to neuter to rescue and rehome some of them it's just never enough. we pick themup from the streets starving, sick, abandoned, and abused and try our best tooffer them a better life. i believe that their stories deserve toreach as many people as possible and that the amazing work that is being doneby greek charities must be recognized today is my birthday and what i reallywish for is that one day my work will not be needed anymore, but until that daycomes i won't stop speaking for the ones that can't speak for themselves.
