lisa hughes. i am david wade. the parent lived near each other but they are saying little else about this, ken macleod is live with breaking details . reporter: this is right along lake queens to maine and

despite the rain police are working the scene. they finished up just about an hour ago and they are in the basement of a nearby home. is detectives carded bags of evidence away from the scene, neighbors shook their heads. not surprised.

reporter: this began as a foul smelling trashbag at 374 lake avenue. it had been removed to some woods behind the house across the street. they discovered a garbage bag with a strong smell coming from it, when they open that

they found the remains of a newborn baby. reporter: police insist it was a newborn and not a fetus but they could not save the infant had been born alive or how long it could've been dead. we need the autopsy to come back.

reporter: all day long the police scoured the homes pitching a tent on the wooded hill where the remains were found as neighbors hoped the rumors were not true. i hope it does not involve a child. that is everyone's force

nightmare. reporter: police had already arrested suspects including the babies suspected mom, 36-year- old jennifer who appeared pregnant in recent months and to has a history of prostitution and drugs. that blows my mind.

reporter: also under arrest is her apparent boyfriend, edwin santiago, they are charged with concealing the death of a child and neighbors say that they have made frequent visits by police for all sorts of trouble. the last couple of years were nice and quiet but things

have changed.
